Project Information Management Lead

Location: Remote

Role Purpose

The Project Information Management Lead oversees how project information is created, structured, stored, shared, and governed across the project lifecycle. They ensure data consistency, compliance with standards, effective collaboration, and availability of accurate information for decision-making. The PIM Lead acts as the central authority for document control, data workflows, collaboration platforms, and information governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Project Information Management Plan (PIMP) / Information Delivery Plan (IDP).
  • Establish and enforce naming conventions, metadata standards, and classification structures.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 19650, CDE requirements, and internal quality frameworks.
  • Oversee configuration and maintenance of the project’s CDE (SharePoint, Asite, Aconex, BIM 360, ProjectWise).
  • Manage workflows for review/approval, version control, and transmittals.
  • Act as platform administrator and primary point of contact for system issues.
  • Manage information flows between internal teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor information quality, completeness, and alignment with project milestones.
  • Track submissions, approvals, RFIs, design deliverables, and documentation.
  • Provide training, onboarding, and guidance to project teams.
  • Coordinate with engineering, design, procurement, project controls, and construction teams.
  • Produce dashboards and reports on workflow volumes, approvals, and KPIs.
  • Maintain audit trails and support assurance activities.
  • Identify improvements to digital workflows, templates, and information structures.
  • Support integration between project systems (scheduling, ERP, design tools).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in information management within project-based environments.
  • Strong knowledge of CDE platforms and digital collaboration tools.
  • Understanding of document control, governance, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 or equivalent standards.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience on major programmes or multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM processes, digital twin, or engineering data management.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Project management or information management certifications.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Management, Engineering, Construction Management, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications in information management, BIM, or data governance are advantageous.
